My quilt shop in McKinney, The Quilt Asylum, is doing a 2008 BOM by Nancy Halvorsen called the Be Attitudes. It is a 12-month program and is just starting. Their website is www.thequiltasylum.com and they will ship it to you. An old friend of mine is doing it with me. I picked up the first block "Be Warm" the other day and I finished it today. Here's a pic. It is missing the beads on the ends of the snowflakes. I probably shouldn't have put the other 2 buttons on yet either, but I just couldn't resist. Figure I could take them off later if I needed...

Beautiful block, Wasie. Nice quilt too. Thanks for sharing. Is it pieced blocks with machine applique?

Don't think I can really start any MORE rojects. Need to use up some of the fabric and patterns and stash I already have.

Wasie, thank you! I have just lost every BOM I've saved all of last year so I guess I will start again.

Let me tell all of you do not depend on an External Hard drive! A virus will wipe it clean! It infected my computer and I have lost everything. Well it's there but I'm afraid of it now....I was depending on my external to save my files but I'll be burning a lot of DVD's! I had over 900,000 files of quilting, embroidery, sewing, crafts and family stuff. That is why I got the external hard drive..

No help now!

Oh, Betty, that is heart-wrenching. It's not even my computer and I'm wincing at the work that will have to be done!

Wasie, thanks for the link. Wall hangings are not my thing, but I really, really like this. May have to make one for mysaelf and one for my nephew.

My sister was married to a real jerk, who was really hard on my nephew; always telling him he had "a bad attitude." Well, it got to be a joke between my nephew, my mother, my other sister, and I. To show our support for the nephew, we would tell "bad attitude" jokes.

What did the bishop say to the priest? You have a bad beattitude.
What did the moon say to the Earth? You have a bad latitude.
What did one Thanksgiving turkey say to the other Thanksgiving turkey? You have bad gratitude.
What did Beethovan say to Mozart? You have a bad etude.

You get the idea.

The blocks are pieced and they are really simple. Then I used wonder under to applique the lil' snowman dude and the letters. Then I did the machine blanket stitching. I had never done it before so there was a learning curve here! I took out the scarf and redid the entire thing at the end. Last was the embroidery of the snowflakes--not much handwork. I am sure that the machine blanket stitching will go better on the next block! Overall it wasn't too bad. And if you know how to do the blanket stitching already it would go very fast--keep a good attitude about it!! Wink

Betty--For a backup: I have a dot mac account. It's offsite in California someplace. I have part of some giganto hard drive (probably a ton of them hooked together or something) so it's totally somewhere else. That's where I store backups of all of my work files, student grades, etc and anything I would cry over if my drives crashed. Plus I can access it from anywhere. It costs a little bit a year, but it is totally worth it. Is there anything like that for PCs?

Wasie, email me the web site and I'll check into it. I like that idea; then I won't have to fool with it. I know for the last year when I downloaded from my Kodak camera at the same time it would transfer all photos to my Albums at Kodak and I'm glad! So I've still got those.

But I had literally 1000's...well between machine embroider, quilting, crochet, knitting and cross-stitch and hand embroidery files...over 980,000 files total. Depend on my external hard drive...mistake!

Betty, I'm so sorry. I lost everything a couple years ago, at the time the worse part was a Master's thesis, and all referance material. About two months later I went to look at some pictures and realized they were gone too. It was a sickening feeling. marie
