Second version. I think I like it better. Opinions?

YES!!! That's IT!! That looks wonderful, Jenn. That fabric is just too gorgeous NOT to use it as a focal point. Now go sew it together!! Smile

I'm gonna take this with me tomorrow and see if I can find a chocolate brown or rust that might be a better fit than the smoky gray. It matches the grays in the asian print, but I think they make the block appear darker than I want. I love oranges and reds so maybe that will make me fall in love with this block Smile

I love warm colors myself, so I hear you, although I do really like the way this block looks right now.

I spend a lot of time just laying things out and studying them before I sew them together ... and occasionally I take things out after I have looked them longer and my thoughts change ...

I love this part of quilting ... actually I love all parts of quilting, <3 Pat

I love the main fabric in the center like you have it!!! AWESOME I love it this way best, it gives lots of punch to the block. I totally agree agree about the center block being fussy cut then the dark color around that then the gold brings out the colors and separates them much better. Of the 2 I really like this one the best even thoguh either one would be a winner.

Happy Quilting!

I hope I don't post this several times. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to post a picture!

I'm loving seeing everyone's fabric choices. They're all so pretty!

I'm using Kim's fabrics because I like them. I'm a beginner too, so I'm not very good picking out fabrics yet!

I finished my January and February blocks this weekend. I really like how they've turned out!

These blocks are beautiful, AJ, and beautifully made!

Wish my first blocks had looked this good ... it was a maple leaf quilt and I had some trouble getting all the stems and the points right.

It is nice to see the blocks made up in the fabrics Kim chose originally for this quilt. I love all the fabrics from Fig Tree Quilts. Had I not already made a quilt with the some of these fabrics, I might have used these myself.

Looking forward to seeing more of your quilt blocks,

Smile Pat

I found a hand-dyed rust color sateen that was perfect at the quilt show today. Only problem is that she didn't have it for sale separate, it was in a FQ kit. She's going to make me what I need though and ship it to me so I'm putting the finishing of these blocks on hold for now.

I think I'm going to pull out one of my kits I have and begin working on it. I have two complete kits I haven't taken out of the bag yet. Big Grin
