Hi everyone, I'm also looking forward to the next block. This BOM has been very fun to make. I have made 2 others and so far, each quilt came out great.

Kim has been ill, I've been trying to get her but undoubtedly she has not been online.

Please pray that we will hear from her soon. It is not like her to not update.

I am just new to quilting and would like some opinions about the level of difficulty on this "Somewhere in Time" BOM. I have completed one quilt wall hanging with great success so feel like this is doable. Before buying all my fabric I am making January with scraps as a trial piece--not quite finished yet, though. I'm very excited to begin this new hobby. All comments welcome!

Betty, I hope and pray that Kim is well again soon.

Miki, you and I should both post our pictures of our blocks in the album.

Luv2Quilt, KathyM, PatE, Lady Di ... to BC!!!! May you all make many beautiful quilts and wonderful friends here!

Lady Di, it sounds like a great idea to make the first block from scraps before buying fabric. Maybe it will turn out so well that you will just decide to do the whole quilt from scraps. I love scrappy quilts! Wink

I have only done the first three blocks so far and have found them challenging but not too difficult. I have been quilting only about three years now. I have a lot of projects going at the moment so I am playing catch-up with a few BOM's.

It is so nice to see more people working on the BOM! We would love to see pictures of your blocks, too,

Pat

Good morning all,
I belong to a BOM club at a local quilt shop, and since I was going to be learning how to work with Marty Michell's templates, I thought I would try to make the block in scraps before I cut into my good fabric.
This has been working out great, since I first make the block in pretty much what I have on hand (I did need to buy just a couple of fat quarters) Smile, and then when I sew with the regular fabric, the block really does go together much faster. So, the good news is that I'm learning the new technique, which has really helped me in my accuracy of sewing with triangles, and I will end up with two quilts ( in two very different colorways) at the same time.
Have a great day,

Kathy

Lady Di, I agree with Pat, some of the blocks are more challenging but not extrememly difficult. I really enjoy the fact that each month the block is different and if one month the block is more difficult you are only making one. Sporty. I don't know if you have look into the photo album but several of the quiltlers who are making this BOM have posted pictures I have pictures of my blocks posted there also.

I really love the BOMs that Kim has created over the years and hope to eventually make them all.. I am also making the patchwork panache BOM 2007.

I am sorry to hear that Kim is having health issue and pray that she will be better soon.
