You might be able to use some of the fabrics in Moda's new
ZaZa Collection
Doesn't it have a fun name??
I think some of them have a SW feel to them.

I am new to an online BOM. I participate yearly in a local quilt shops BOM. I am looking forward to this. I happened to have a beautiful blue/gold Asian floral print that I had fallen in love with and bought awhile back. I am using that as my focus fabric, so the colors are very different than the sample. I got January's block done already and it turned out well. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Looking forward to the next months now.

Hi all. I like the looks of this BOM. I'm looking for a new project since I'm all caught up (UFOs would make me crazy). I wonder about doing this in a scrappy blue and yellow? I have trouble with values (beginner) and picking out fabrics. Any suggestions on how to 'alter' these colors for a blue and yellow. I've always wanted to do a scrappy blue and yellow with white or creams but have always stuck with patterns that I can match the value specifically but just change the colors to suit me.

Is my question clear as mud? I read the segment on the BOM site about values and also the color wheel but I guess I'm a 'gotta see it' person...

Welcome Patricia and Rosalyn! I'm so glad that you'll be joining in as well! Smile

Patricia, your fabric sounds wonderful! Can you post a photo of your first block, so we can it in action? Smile

Rosalyn, I'm thinking about your question... there has got to be a way...maybe a dark and medium value of blue, same with yellow, and use the creams for the background?

Well, that's exactly what I was thinking. Maybe I understand value better than I thought I did. I'd like to use several different blues and yellows though... I'm gathering and thinking.

I can't wait to start this block, I have all my fabric and it is washed, ironed and ready to be cut. This is my first BOM and it just looks like it will be beautiful when it is done. Can't wait to see everyones blocks.
Best wishes
