Deb ... your blocks are gorgeous!! Is that a solid black or a very dark blue setting off the reds and greens? Wonderful choice of fabrics and colors ... WTG! Clap

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Betty, thanks for getting my pics in the album!

Pat, the color is a deep wine, tone on tone flower print. It is hard to see in the pictures and certainly reads as a solid.

My (original) fabric choices taught me some valuable lessons....always learning! The first was a value lesson. I originally chose fabrics that were much too similar in value and the star points in the Jan block did not show up! So I had to pick out something else. The second was never to cut out all the fabric for a quilt until one block is made and it is clear that the choices all work!

I enjoy looking at everyone elses blocks. It is so much fun to see how others view the pattern, mix the fabrics and how that changes what the blocks look like! Just part of the fun of being here!

I am getting ready to purchase my fabric for this pattern and would like to know if there is already an allowance for extra or should I purchase a little extra. I am concerned that if it takes me 8 months to a year to complete that my fabric may no longer be available. This will be the first full size quilt I have attempted. Any thoughts?

Lady Di, I would buy extra just to be safe! I always do this!

I have the whole thing cut out and there is plenty of extra fabric included in the instructions. I think Kim must include a little 'fudge' factor in her yardage requirements as this was my experience with the last BOM of hers I did.

This is a fun pattern to put together. Glad to see you are joining us. Please post your pictures as you complete the blocks so we can see your progress.

Deb ... oooooo ... deep wine ... sounds gorgeous!

I, too, have had a bit of a time finding the "right" fabrics for this one ... not a problem that I usually have ... Confused
