WElcome, all you newbies!! Boy, oh boy, this is so exciting!!

One suggestion for a value finder - if you go to the office supply store, look for a clear (brain freeze here! Frown ) ummm... not a file folder but a presentation folder in red (they come in green and other colours too, and are cheaper than a value finder. Squinting works well, as does putting your fabrics side by side on a copier and making a black and white copy. and other people's help is wonderful.

As for a stripe or check, they make wonderful borders and bindings. Think about it.

Have fun, all of you!

I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you.

Very nice colors! And your points are all PERFECT!! Glad to see someone else's variation. Just one question... the rows just inside of the green are backwards. Is that an intentional modification?

I know what you mean. It took me about 5 hours to do this block and I have to do mine over because I need to change at least one fabric!

Now that I've contained myself, I'm not sure I will change it. Not the intentional mistake thing but I kind of like it. any opinions, marieg

Your block is beautiful, Marie. If you like the way it looks, why change it? I often make variations in sampler blocks ... play with the colors and fabrics a little to make it my own.

Marie,

That is what we, in the quilting world, lovingly refer to as "a design opportunity". There are never mistakes, only design opportunites! LOL
