I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you.

I am curious what types of fabrics are you all using, especially for the flowers and pinwheels? Solids? Prints? Calicos? I think either mottled or batiks would look best, followed by tone-on-tones.

I wanted to pick fabrics from my stash as much as possible and see if I could whittle it down some, but because I am drawn to traditional motifs in the fabric store, I don't have a large palette of batiks or mottled in my stash. What to do? What to do? I need opinions, ladies!

On the one hand, I don't want to be unhappy with the final result of this quilt because of fabric selection. On the other hand, I am determined to prove to my mother that I can resist the temptation to buy more fabric! I have bought buttons, zippers, and some poly-fill to make a new dog bed, but I have not bought any fabric since before Thanksgiving! And that fabric was to go into making bazaar items so it doesn't count! So I really haven't bought anything for my stash since September or October.
