Mine will go in the mailbox on Monday, I'm thinking. I went to take a pic, and the batteries were dead, AGAIN!!! I really think it's high time to buy new rechargeables - just wish they weren't so bloomin' expensive!!

Congrats to both of you!! Smile Have fun!

Don't know if it helps, but I have always heard that if ya keep your batteries in the refrigerator it makes them lasts longer. I have not tried it, bc I have a Kodak Easy Share with a Dock. It was well worth the extra $. Has anyone else tried this?

Jami and Linda,

I received your blocks in the mail today. Thank you! I am soooooo happy!

Jami, I opened your envelope first because it was on top. Wow! I love the blues you used to bring out the blue in the water in your animal print. You have a wonderful eye for color.

When I laid them out and opened your envelope, Linda, I was amazed at how well the all looked together, even though you used such different fabrics. The green in the grass in Linda's blocks jumped right out when laid next Jami's blocks and suddenly the green grass in Jami's blocks jumped out.

And the black center square in one of Jami's blocks fits so well with the zebra print in one of Linda's borders.

So I put my blocks next to them ... and because I have a lot of green in the background of my giraffe center squares (I was a little worried that my green might not fit with everyone's animal skin prints)... they fit right in!!!

My animal prints are a perfect color match with you spotted fabric, Linda. <3 <3 <3

I am sooo happy! ... Oh ... I already said that, didn't I?

Well I am doing a Banana happy dance here Smile

This quilt is going to be so nice.

If I were to lay them all out in a rectangle without any other fabric, I will get a nice sized lap quilt of 48" X 56" ... with rows of 6 by 7 blocks, with one odd block out ... (my extra one because I did 8 blocks ... I always was a square peg.) When life hands me an extra block I just make a pillow to go with my quilt. <3 <3 <3

Dorene, thanks for the pattern idea. I do like it. If I made these HST with my extra fabric ... and made a trip to the LQS to get more ... I could double my quilt size by alternating blocks. Hmmm. I have been toying with the idea of doing a rag quilt style here ... I think the added texture would be great with the animal prints. If I ran the rag seam down the center between the triangles in animal skin print HST blocks it would make a really interesting ripple effect. Hmmm ... this is a definate maybe.

This is so much fun!

Looking forward to more pretty safari blocks in the mail ...

THANKS, everyone! Big Grin Pat

Linda, Shelia and Debbie (quilting lass),
I got your blocks today and love them. I can tell already that these are going to make a wonderful quilt. I'm thinking maybe a wall hanging. I have been going from room to room and think I may put it in our bedroom. HMMM, we'll see...lol
