The Happy Blocks are continuing to come in ... they are all so pretty!!!
Yesterday I received ...
Barb's ... the colors blend perfectly ... the zebra border was just what I needed to add to the other zebra prints
Kathi's ...you probably know by now that you used the same center print as Linda ... I love this fabric ... and all the border fabrics are so warm and rich ...
Debbie's ... the EYES in the animals in your center fabric are soooo nice ... they just pop right out ... and the lush greens in the border print have that nice amber accent to bring out eyes ... such a good choice ...
Sheila's ... your center blocks are just my favorite color ... that warm, buttery yellow ... I love it! ... and the border print with the animals peeking out of the foliage ... it is like the sun shining into the jungle ...
Everytime I lay all the blocks out next to each other I am so amazed at how well they all fit together even though they were made by many different hands ...
Thank you, all ... Pat

Just got home from work and got the mail. It's been a long day, trying to get ready for inventory at work, so I have been real frazzled until I saw some wonderfully squishy enelopes in the mail box....
I received blocks from Cindi(zoopme), Jami, Barbara Mcfarr and Pat. They are are all so wonderful and Pat, I have to agree, The colors are so warm and I just love how they all fit together.
I got your safari blocks today! I love the red background in the center print. I was thinking my quilt needed a bit of red. These fabrics are so cute.
Thanks, Pat

I received your safari blocks today ... and was surprised by the "two-er" in the envelope.
Betty, your center fabric is the same as one of the ones I used and I only had a small piece of this fabric, so it was nice to get a few more. You found such a very nice "cheetah' print for the borders of yours. I love it. Thank you!
Jean, both your fabrics were so different, wherever did you find them? The pattern on the border fabric is so interesting and it really framed the animals so well. These are really going to add a nice new dimension to the quilt. Thank you so much for making such beautuful blocks.
I am really enjoying taking out all the blocks and arranging and re-arranging them as each new piece of the quilt arrives. So much fun! Pat
[Edited for accuracy: Oh, silly me, I mixed up the names on the block fabrics. Sorry, ladies. Thank you so much!]

Hi all, I got this email from Kathi this morning. I hadn't seen where she'd received my, or Betty's Safari blocks so I emailed her...This is her response:
(Jean, I'm so sorry about not posting. I have been busy. I just got a promotion at work and have been busy studying for the tests. Please give everyone my apologies and I would really appreciate it if you could let everyone know that I have received your blocks and Betty's, also blocks from Carole Peyus and Quiltbuddie.
Thank you very much and again I apologize for not posting. I'm hoping that things will be back to normal by Friday.)
Thanks for responding Kathi, and congrats on your promotion..
Jean

OKAY All! I started making My Safari Happy Blocks just like the ones I sent the girls, BUT I put them on point. I started piecing my quilt together today, BUT I needed more so I'm making more. I have some of them with a Black 2-1/2 Inch strip around the green with a lepard Orange corner stone (Which made the eyes stand out even more) and then As I lay it out on the bed I wanted it bigger. So I'm back to making more happy blocks. When I'm finished there will be Zebra prints and Giraffe skin Prints in it as well. I can't wait to finish......So until next time..... back to my Happy blocks.......

Pat, Glad that you liked the blocks. I only had enough of that safari fabric to make the 6 blocks for the swap. I was pleased with how they turned out. Can't wait to see the quilts. Shelia
