WooHoo ~ I have 6 completed Safari Blocks in the drawer...waiting for a home! Need DS1 to help me load the pics from his camera, because I have gremlins in the house that took the cord for mine!

Oknana, thanks for changing the website address for me. I'll try to remember that next time. Don't want to cause Kim any problems.

I went to my fav LQS Wednesday and found another couple of prints that I might use. They are in the dryer right now. Now to decide which ones to use. Any leftovers won't go to waste though as my brother and his wife want a quilt for their bedroom in a jungle/safari theme. Someone sure is going to have a good start on a good size quilt this time.

Wow! 40 blocks for each person to make a quilt. Sounds like a fun time. Smile

I have my March Happy blocks all ready to mail to the lucky winners, but since this is my first time ever mailing anything like this I am asking your advice here, ladies.

What is the best way to mail these quilt blocks so that they will arrive in the same condition in which they were mailed and will get to there destination in a timely and safe manner.

I mean as in terms of envelope type and size, any special packing hints and the best USPS mailing options ? ? ?

Please advise. As a newbie, I want to do this in your tried and true methods.

TIA for your help, <3 Pat

Pat, Any size envelope you want to use is fine to me. I normally use a regular 4 1/8 x 9 1/2 long envelope and fold them in half, slide one into the other one to offset the seams so they won't get stuck in the machine at the post office. I have started sending mine wrapped in saran wrap as well. I got a big roll of this at Wmart for a good price and I rec'd several like this and they arrive nicely. Others have sent theirs flat in a big envelope, which is fine too, but this method costs more. You can put delivery confirmation on them if you wish, but I always just get my receipt from the postmaster, figure this way I can let the winner know when I mailed them and if they don't reach them, I can make another set cheaper than a delivery confirmation receipt. However, when I mail out pkgs, I do like to have a dc on them. Just regular mailing a long envelope, I think it only costs around 58 cents. I always take mine inside too, to allow them to check them to make sure they will go through the slot thingy ma-gig they have at the postoffice. I'd suggest trying one way, for once, and see how you like it and if it works for ya, keep that method going.
Hope this helps~~

Wink
