Trina -

I am flying in to Frankfurt and will be staying with friends in Brechen. One of the daughter's of the family I am staying with was an exchange student who stayed with me for a month in 2004. I will be taking a Rhine river cruise, seeing frankfurt, spend a week driving with them to several cities and Dresden, taking the train from Dresden to Prague for a couple days, POSSIBLY flying to helsinki for 2 days to visit another exchange student, going to the graduation of the German daughter, and also visiting another exchange student who lived with me for 6 months in 1990. WHEW! That's a LOT! Oh, and, of course, SHOPPING!!!! y sister may be flying over to go on the road trip with us and to Prague - we have relatives we've never met who live about 150 miles from Prague.

I've made several bags, some with patterns and others without a pattern. I've made gift bags for wine bottles or other items, small drawstring bags for gifts, purses, etc. I have lots of patterns I've bought and never used over the years. Maybe I will finally use one of those.

Trina you may want to wait till you find out who your partner is before you pick out the colors and then pick something that she will like.

For anyone with a closing Hancock store near them I was in mine this week and they had the patterns on sale for 20% off but they were going fast. But I did pick up a couple of really cute patterns for about $4.50 each.

Thanks, Connie - I'm really looking forward to it. I'll take LOTS of pictures. And maybe even bring back some fabric!

I already have some fabric my German friends brought me last February when they stayed with me for a few days. I can't make up my mind what to make - quilt, WH, or??? I think a quilt but I'll need some fabric to go with it. I'll have to post a pic of the fabric - lots of stripes in medium blue, green, reds - very pretty. I know fabric is a lot more expensive over there, so may not get much.

Ha ha - now HERE's a special purse project for you. I went to a conference several years ago and all the members of one club had made these to carry that night. It was a cute, fancy purse, but when we found out what it was made out of we had to laugh. So - if you have a wacky partner, maybe you could make one of these. LOL
