No spiders or snakes for me, either. If people don't want to do the labels I will just add them to the jars myself, with just the person's name on the front. I think it adds to the jars. This will make a cute quilt. I'm planning to make my quilt look like a cabinet filled with full canning jars, with opened doors, shelves, shelf liners, cook books, and any other little additions I can think of. I remember seeing one similar to this in a quilt magazine.

This would then be stitched on the front and would be a cute addition to the quilt - a built in label.
What do you think?
I think I am going to do this whether the vote goes yay or nay ... I am going to iron a piece of background fabric to freezer paper. Write out a label for each jar with a fabric pen. Press it again. Cut it to size and attach it to each of my blocks with a safety pin. Dorene wants us to identify our blocks with some kind of label anyway. This way the people who want to have labels just need to applique them to the front and they will have our signatures for their friendhip jar quilts and those who do not want to put the labels on the front can put them on the back of their quilts with their own label so they will have record of the quilters who contributed to blocks to their quilt. Okay! Guys> I have been going thru my stash for food stuff I found French Fries, Hamburgers, Carrots, Picnic Goodies, Pepermints, candy corn, Gingerbread Cookies....I even found 3 types of bugs. I was hoping I'd find Marbles. I guess I have lost those...LOL. I think I'm going to use some solids for things like Catsup, Mustard, Mayo, Purple (grape jam) and put labels on them to add to my quilt I see another quilt coming together. The printed fabrics will be internet quilting friend and the solids other quilting friends. For some weird reason I'm into BIG quilts....

ROFL!! Debbie, I just got this picture in my head of the old "lost boy" in the movie "Hook" who really "lost" his bag of marbles and got them back in the end and flew off to neverland ... my kids loved that movie. LOL! Thanks for the laugh! My second one on the boards today ... ... ah, it is a goooood day! Debbie - I love that you are playing with MY mention above of a color for spaghetti sauce. And adding others for catsup, spaghetti sauce, mustard, etc. ROFLOL! What a simple way to add other blocks and friends. LOL!

Posted Apr 23, 11:58 AM by Melita OK, Don't know what happened there. I tried to do two things at once, and the inevitable happened... neither worked! I'd like to put my name down for 3 blocks. Its probably best to start off small and work my way up. I don't know what I'll put in my jars, it depends on what fabric I can find. I tried a personal message to OKNANA, but couldn't get past the signing on a new contact. Help! Reposted by Nola Melita somehow messed up and instead of posting on this thread, she started a new thread. I'm taking the liberty of reposting her message here and hopefully she'll see it. I'm also going to send her a PM to tell her what I did. Nola
