Oknana, can you change mine to 12, please? I just bought my fabric, and if I don't use it up making jars, I don't know what else I'd use it for!!!

I was just asked to clarify "novelty" since this really falls into that category. I think as long as it's not Kiddy novelty, it will work. I just don't want any DORA'S or TRUCKS kind of things in the Jars. Hope this is okay with everyone~~

yea, One more thing I wanted to mentioned. I will have an album to post our Jars once we have one made! Maybe if we can post our choice there, it will give others ideas, or might jump start their Jar Juices to join us!!!

Question,Oknana! Do all our jars have to be alike? For instance, I'm making 12 - what I mean is, do all 12 have to be the same or can I fill my jars with different stuff? Primarily I'm canning apples, but might like to put up a few jars of hot peppers, or something else. Did find some lizard fabric, but thought that canned lizards might be a bit too weird - sort of sounds like something Granny from the "Beverly Hillbillies" would can!!! Big Grin

WinkI don't mind them being different fabrics Nola at all. I had to roll about the Lizard though from Granny~ yep, I just watched an episode of that family this AM. She was quite a character for sure! I am thinking lizard would fall into that kiddy novelty that we don't want, so let's let Granny keep her lizards in a jar to herself~! LOL~ What a character she must of been to film!!The apples and peppers sound great though!~~

I just posted a pic of my Strawberries in a Jar~ Go take a peek! I wrote on the caption of the picture that with the one little square/triangle folded down that the directions says to cut off that fabric once you sew your little diagonal line, but I learned at a Quilt retreat last year that if you will only cut off the back side of the front piece (beige) in this instance and leave the fabric you sewed it to there it will help with squaring up your block. My pic shows one side cut and pressed like it needs to go and the other side shows my little triangle cut. I hope I didn't make that too confusing to understand!! If you choose to leave it on there, it will not hurt a thing.

I agree about the lizards!! Didn't really seriously consider it - just saw that fabric and thought, "How weird would that look!!!"

Right now I'm sticking with apples unless I find someelse irresitable. Going to Bluffton tomorrow to do some genealogy look-ups and if I have time I'll stop at the quilt store there. Maybe something will just jump off the shelves and demand to be "canned"!
