Dorene,

Your "Strawberry Jars" are too cute. Sporty

My fabric is swishing in the washer right now. I have been trying to quilt my Flower Basket Quilt today, but the jars keep calling me. I decided to give in and make these blocks and then go back to the quilting.

I went through my old quilting magazines, too, as I knew I had seen a jar quilt in one of them. I found the one I knew I has seen before. Quilt Magazine's "Big Block Quilts" Issue #71 has a "Granny's Sweet Shoppe" quilt that also has a floral arrangeent and a black and white cat block in it. I have always wanted to make this quilt ... including the cat black because it looks like my DD's kitty. This one only has six jars, but I am going to cut out the top banner and add another row of three jars, so swapping eight blocks and keeping one of my own should be just right.

For free patterns on the net, I did find this page with lots of idea links:
http://www.geocities.com/aljobritt/jars.html

That "jar" table cloth is pretty nice ... hmmm.

I <3 this block swap!

My DD just called and asked if she could bring her roommates along to dinner ... no more quilting until later tonight ...

Pat

You got me to thinking Pat, I think I have some "wood" fabric I ordered some time back from somewhere on the internet and it'd be great for my Jars~!
I think it was a link that had like Ginger's something in it. I will try to find it and post the link for it as well. Thanks for all those links to different jar quilts. Such Fun!
Enjoy your daughter and her room mates.

Okay are we doing different jars or is it up to the individual what they would like to do. I only ask because this would give me a great chance for the tablerunner that I wanted to do like forever.

Michelle, are you wanting to have all the same kind or theme or something in your tablerunner?
I am going to do all of mine in strawberry, but I think some may be doing half one kind and the other half another or so. It is just a personal preference I think. No one has listed what they are doing except Nola and me and I think she is going with Apples and maybe something else.

I was in a fall themed jsar swap several years ago. I got great blocks and made a quilt for my mom. It was awesome.
While at a quilt show in Hampton VA last year I picked up a bunch of fat quarters in southwestern style prints. I may use them. or maybe not.
S o many decisions.
