Betty, I don't know why I've been so busy, all the kids have left home, and I have less time than I did when they were here. My jars are in the mail and winging their way to OK. I've been thinking and I would like to make some other blocks this size of things like a bowl of flowers, bird house etc, just to scatter in them to make it look like a shelf in the kitchen. Use wood grained fabric to do the horizontal strips. Kat
Kat, I had a lot more time when I had 3 small children running around the house and I sewed for people. Now don't ask me what I do, but I'm a busy lady! lol
I like the assorted objects on a shelf idea. I've seen jars on shelves but I like your idea better.
You want a butterfly on a black background? I've got one I'll share with you/!

We weren't blessed with children, but I still got more accomplished when I was younger, and taught full time. Now I take care of my DH and have trouble getting anything done. I think it has something to do with the energy of the young. LOL
Dorene, My blocks are in the mail. I ended up with enough fabric for 19 plus one extra. I hope they are as good as everyone else's. I don't know why I struggled with these blocks. I made about 50 jar blocks a couple of years ago without any problem. They had blcack background. I forgot all about those blocks until we started thse. Do you think I should get them put together? LOL
Looks like we all made the deadline today in mailing their blocks. YIPPEE!!! You are all AWESOME!!!!!! Thank you!!! Time???? Time to a quilter is not enough for sure!!!!! We should of put some time in a bottle for each one of us! LOL!!!! WIsh I could find some Clocks or something right quick!!! Of course I wouldn't have TIME to make them, but the thought is there! LOL! Hope to receive them all soon and I will get the swapping done I will get them all mailed by the 24th to head back to ya'll. YIPPEE!!! It's been lots of fun ladies!!

I agree with the other ladies this was such a fun swap I had so been wanting to do a jar quilt and this was the perfect way to get one done, am also looking forward to seeing the blocks in person, Dorene you were a gracious hostess and thanks for all the hard work that is ahead of you as well !!!! Ladies again hats off to all of the participants for doing such a wonderful job on this swap!!!
Great job!!!!everyone. Dorene, thank you for hosting this swap. I had a lot of fun making the jars and I am looking forward to a special package arriving at my door.
I have sort of a funny story: When you all receive your jar from me, you will see that the label is held on with a gold safety pin. Those pins are from a second package I bought because I couldn't find the first package. Guess what?! I found the first package of gold pins today. They were on my antique sewing machine in plain sight. How is it that I didn't see them. I walk pass the machine several times a day. I think George,my friendly ghost has been playing with my stuff again. Trina
