Hello Linda,

I've been watching the Happy Block threads with interest. Can you yell me how it works? I'm still new to BC and I'm on a steep learning curve! LOL

I am considering this one too. I read the rule changes but didn't find the original rules. Can you tell me when they have to be mailed? I will be in ND for a while in mid June and don't want to sign up if it's too close to that. Can't wait to see what the colors are!

Melita - I hope you do join in. These blocks are fun to make, and a great way to start. After the theme is announced, you can sign up to make the blocks to fit the theme. The entire set of Happy Block rules is posted at the beginning of the Block Swaps and Round Robins thread. However, Rule #1 is important:
Rule #1. There is a minimum and maximum of blocks that are to be made. Minimum is 2 and maximum is 10. While you may choose to make as few as 2 blocks or as many as 10 blocks, you name will go into the drawing for the number of blocks you do up to 6 times at the maximum. If you make 8 your name only goes in 6 times. If you make 2 your name only goes in 2 times.

This is not a TRUE swap, because you will not be trading or exchanging blocks. All the blocks made for this swap will be split between the two winners whose names are drawn.

Jenell - The drawing for these blocks will be on July 4th - the first Friday in July. When the winners are announced, and I PM everyone the addresses of the winners, then you will send them out.

So - is this clear as mud for the two of you? The theme will be posted sometime tomorrow.

Looking forward to hearing the theme for July! Smile

Melita and Jennel ... you can still sign up for the June Swap, too. Wink You make your blocks ahead of time and mail them out as soon as you can when the winners are announced ... which will be Friday, June 6th for the June Swap. The winners could be you! Big Grin In which case you mail out half and keep the rest and enjoy the envelopes full of pretty blocks dropping into your mailbox.

And the July theme is - Cheer Apple In The Pond Apple Cheer - things you would find in a pond, like frogs, fish, water, lily pads, ducks, etc. Have fun with this theme. I'm sure there are lots of ideas.

Vicky will be drawing the two winners' names on Friday, July 4. Good luck, everyone.

I have also posted the theme on page 1 with the signup sheet so it is easy to find.

Hi Linda,
The theme is so cute. I have just the right fabrics in my stash waiting to be used. I have a question, how do you want the layout? What I mean is do you want the theme fabric in the center with contrast boarders, or placed any way we choose?
In the mean time sign me up for 6, & I will PM you my info.

Thanks, Rebecca - got your info.

Any way you want to do your fabrics will be fine, but please use only two fabrics per block and make it so all four outside pieces are of the same fabric.
