Janell, yes I did, how did I miss posting your name. Must have been one of my in-DUH-vidual moments. Sorry about that.

Shelia -

Regarding the extra postage - One problem COULD be that since they changed the postage rates a few months back, they added something about the envelope being no thicker than 1/4" or something like that. If it IS thicker than that, it has to go for the higher rate. That's why I really try to schmush (is that a word?) my envelopes down and flatten them. At the desk at my PO they even have a plastic piece with a slot and I've had them try a couple in the slot to make sure they were thin enough.

LInda, they do the same thing at our post office, if the envelope doesn't go through it is moved up to the next level of postage.
I think the post office got smart, with people thinking if they can fit it in a envelope and it doesn't weigh alot they'll get cheaper rates, now they force you to just use the larger envelopes anyway.

Ladies, the slot that the package has to go through is 3/4" and the size matters also... when I sent stuff in those hugh express envelopes I make it as small as I can...I'll even cut off one end and retape it.

You can also turn those wonderful bags inside out and make a tote out of them. I saw Martha Stewart do it. lol

What a way to go green, eh? With priority envelopes as tote bags. I try to Go Green as much as I can.

I have 14 tote bags now - Sprouts, City of Richardson, 3 I've made, 2 Buns and Roses (Romance Writer's Anual Tea here), Central Market, Whole Foods, and 5 various other organizations. I take them to the grocery stores and try not to use plastic. Kroger gives you 5 cents a bag and Whole Foods gives you 10 cents a bag.

I didn't know that grocery stores would actually give you money to NOT use their plastic bags! How do they calculate up how many? By how many of yours they use?

Let's see now, how many plastic bags do I not have to use to get a fat quarter.... Wink

Let's see.... 5 bags per trip. That's a quarter. Need 10 quarters for one fat quarter...looks like every ten weeks I can go to the LQS!

Posted a pic of my block in the album. The envelopes will go out in the morning.

Are my blocks there yet ladies? My pyramids are taking forever to get to Betty and I was wondering if my Happy Blocks have made there way to anyone yet.
