Is anyone planning on making a tree rather than the wreath? I would like to make the quilt on the right. I cannot find any info with respect to yardage. Gerda said she could not find anything either. I am wondering if anyone has figured out the yardage needed? Thanks, I hate to re-invent the wheel if someone has already discovered it! LOL

Meg,
I made the tree on the left. With all the ornaments the same fabric as the sqs & hst's I bought 2 yards. I guess I should have done some figuring but I just guessed. Smile I had a little left over. Don't know if this helps any when doing the math for the larger tree.

Is that two yards of green? Or two yards total? Sorry, this medication is really interfering with my math skills.

There are a little more than 3 times the number of 'tree' blocks in the quilt to the right. Six yards of green seems like too much, but I suppose you do lose a fair amount in all those seam allowences. Does this sound right?

I plan on making a tree, too. Can't wait to see all the ornaments. There is not that much tree (green) fabric, since the ornament blocks take up a lot of it. I would think 2 yards would be plenty tree green fabric for our 12-13 ornaments. A nice size WH.

Gerda-

It is September 29 and my blocks are not ready to go. Between the business with my tooth, the insurance and now this cold, I am not getting much done; and I lost all track of time. I am now into the eighth day of the cold, I quit taking the medication for my cough because it was making my heart race. I will let you know as quickly as I have them in the mail.

Help! I am quickly trying to get my blocks ready to mail out tomorrow. I might be finished today, but I am waiting for calls from the hospitals as to whether my DH will be transfered to Boise VA Medical center today or what. I will try really hard to get them in the mail tomorrow.

A quick question though: Gerda, do you want the fat quarters washed and pressed or just sent to you straight from the store? You probably told us but I am too impatient right now to search for it.

Thanks...Vicky

Meg and Vicky, I totally understand! Life happens, and I know, Meg, when I was last sick, I thought I could do some embroidery or something - NUTTIN' DOIN'!! I couldn't do ANYthing, even reading! and Vicky, hubbies are more important. If a couple extra days would help, you can send them by week's end. Do it when you can, and Vicky, one fat quarter is all I need, I can wash it when I get it. Thanks for asking, but don't worry too much. If anyone else needs a couple more days, please let me know by PM/e-mail/phone or post here.

Meg, I quit taking cold remedies a couple of years ago - I stick to Tyelenol 1 - works great! at least for me! (Just ask your pharmacist for it - it's behind the counter, but not needing a prescription).

Take care, all, and I'll post as I receive packets.
