Hi, ladies!! It's official! Jacqui and I would like you to make Happy Blocks using rich colours, with a cream centre square. Winter is cold, and rich, warm colours will be oh, so cozy!! Come to think of it, Jess has some gorgeous tone on tones that would be perfect!! (I must order some!!!)
Ready for Signups! Let's have a great month with lots of swappers and lots of blocks! PARTICIPANTS: Gerda - 6 Jean - 8 Cindy - 8 Barb - 6 Linda - 8 Jacqui - 8 Shelia - 10 Jami - 6 Mary A (quiltbuddie) - 8 Wasie - 6 Anyone interested in this swap should let me know how many blocks you want to make (limit 10) before the drawing date of the month. Names will be drawn on the first Friday of December and the number of blocks you choose to make will determine how many times you get your name in the pot for a chance to win half of the month's blocks (your name goes in a max of 6 times, even if you make more - this was stated at the very beginning.) Each participant is responsible for sending half of her blocks to each of the two winners. I will PM everyone participating with the mail addresses of the winners). The happy block is made from a 4 1/2" unfinished center square which is then surrounded by another single fabric as a border. The border pieces measure 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" unfinished for the sides and 8 1/2" x 2 1/2" unfinished for the top and bottom borders. The unfinished block will measure 8 1/2" square. Please try to use only one fabric for the center sqaure and only one fabric for the border so that the winner will be able to make a quilt with some design uniformity. You may choose to make all of your blocks identical or all different. If you have any questions, please post on the thread or PM me directly. thanks everyone! **** OOPS!! I forgot to mention, the next drawing for these lovely blocks will be around 7PM Central, on the first Friday of December, right after Trivia. This message has been edited. Sign me up for six. Even if the house sells and I have to move, I should be able to get six blocks done.

We're hoping for a quick sale too. But in this part of the country, the real estate market is so different from any where else I've ever lived. It's a fairly poor, rural county and about 85% of the people here can't qualify to buy anything over $100,000. So, for us, it will have to be someone moving here from out of state or out of the big city to be able to buy it. We've had a couple of lookers and one has had lots of questions and says that they are "probably going to make an offer" when they are in town in the next week or so. We'll see what happens. Keep your fingers crossed for us. In the meantime, I'm just going to keep on quilting.
