Hello ladies Sorry to not get back to you earlier but i have been at the beach for a few days,I'm enjoying the rest of my summer break. I have been given the Ok by Kim to go ahead with this swap so I thought I would give you some more information and see if we get any more that woud like to join in, what I thought we could do is work on each others blocks, so we can either send patterns that we want stitched or if you have a theme we can use our own patterns and give you a surprise when you get your blocks back, now we can do this like a round robin or we can send one block to each person and they can send it back to the owner when they have finsihed stitching. I think I will trace my patterns onto the fabric and send them that way, we can all do it that way if you like, or if you have any suggestions please let me know. The more people we have join in the more blocks we will have stitched or if we have small designs maybe we can do 2 each, I'll see how much interest we get and thewn we can work on a plan, does that sound OK? Do I have any takers who would like to help me organise this? I can't wait to get started

Leanne, I'm glad this is going through - I seem to work best with a deadline these days - I wonder why?!? Personally, I don't mind if they are random themed blocks, or following one theme. Whatever - I love redwork! Ladies, do we want simple blocks, complex ones or what? What size? And we should decide on the colour # of thread, so they are all the same, don't you think? Should we do a total of 6 or 9 blocks (that would take 6-9 months to complete, or longer, if we factor in mail time) or more? I like the idea of 4-6" finished blocks. But whatever the majority decides on is fine with me - boy, aren't I easy to please? Leanne, it sounds like you have a specific theme in mind for the blocks you will get back. And if you think I can help, given my limited time at home, I would be willing to help you. I guess that's called co-hostessing, eh? I look forward to hearing more - this is exciting!! I have lots of good quality pure white muslin to use, and lots of DMC321!!! Gerda

Hi Gerda Thank you for offering to co host this swap with me, you have some great ideas, I would like to use 6 inch blocks on our chosen fabric, I thought I would trace my designs onto the fabric and iron the pellon onto the back then send them to each person, would you like to do it this way or do you have another idea? We have another lady Beverly who would like to join in also, once each block has been stitched on they could then send it back to the owner, that way we wouldn't have to wait months to get our blocks back, I think using red is a great idea, we could write down which colour we prefer when we send our blocks, I also would like each person to write or stitch their name on the block they have stitched
Do we have anyone else who would like to join, its going to be lots of fun,

Dorene, the three of us (Leanne, Beverly and myself) have started this, but I see no reason you can't join in! I've sent Leanne an e-mail regarding your question (it's middle of the night there right now!), so hopefully we'll have an answer by tonight our time! I'd love to have you onboard with this!! It's gonna be so exciting to get these packages in the mail. We are doing 4 1/2" finished blocks using DMC321 on white fabric. I'll let Leanne give you more details. Gotta go make breakfast now! Later!!! Gerda
