Shop the scrap bins Meg, there are always plenty of ugly pieces in there. LOL!

Congratulations, Midge. I'll bet you can turn Ol' Ugly into a beautiful quilt.

Meg, I think most of us had some fabric in our stashes that we just couldn't abide anymore, or that was pretty ugly. Though when it was here, I liked some of the fabrics. However on pondering your question, I think we will have to keep our eyes peeled next year for uglies - hey, we don't have to buy yardage - if your LQS sells charm squares (5-7" usually), buy those! I know my LQS has had some pretty unpretty ones in her bin!!

And, yes, I'm impressed with how pretty Ole' Ugly came out!

Gerda,

My problem was that I had cleaned out most of my ugly fabric- gave it to my mother to use to make drag around quilts for the cabin so people would leave her good wool blankets alone! i really scrambled to find some worthy of such a quilt!

Oh Midge I am so happy for you! Now you have to find some really ugly fabric to finish it off!

Congrats!

Midge - about your printer (I know, WAAAAY off topic here! Smile)
Here printers have come so far down in price, that it costs about the same as replacement cost of the two ink cartridges. eG. $75 for ink (Black and colour), and maybe 5-10 dollars more for a new printer. Is that an option for you??

Just a thought! Smile
