Good Morning ...

GMTA = Great Minds Think Alike Big Grin

Sorry. I guess I have spent too much time private messaging and texting my kiddos. I have started to pick up some of their desecrations of the English language into net lingo and text anacronyms. Do you ever see that commerical where they are telling the little girl that she is doing too much texting and the Mother askes her who she is texting so much and the girl shrugs and replies IDK (I don't know" maybe my "BFF: (best friend forever) Jill? The Mom tells her it is all costing too much and the daughter comes back with something like TISNF (that is so not fair) and Mom stumbles over "I'll tell you what is T ... S ... N ... not fair ..." I feel like that when kids start throwing all those letetrs around in lieu of words. Then there is the one where the daughter and her Grandmother are sitting together "chatting" in text lingo with their cell phones in their hands about the Mother. These are a couple of the funnier commercials that I have seen lately ... I am sympathetic to the Mom. I really am not very up on all these abbreviations ... I just have to HITKS (hang in there and keep smiling) ... Wink

Vicky ... I have had some trouble trying to figure out how to put the Safari Happy Blocks together ... they are all very pretty ... and some quite different and striking ... but they look like they need something to pull them together ... I have tried a couple of different sashing layouts and have not found the right one yet.

I was hoping the use of the gold thread on the Oriental blocks might help to pull them together in some way. I was thinking that a plain narrow black sashing might work well with these when I laid out my sample blocks ... maybe with gold posts? You say you like dark purple. Might this color work for sashing? Or maybe alternate the happy blocks with hourglass blocks in batiks or oriental fabrics?

I think the Bright and Bold Color block ones may just be able to be sewn one to the next without sashing. The Kitty Happy blocks seem to be able to be just laid out and probably be put together without sashing.

Hope this helps ...

Pat

Vicky,

You kitties have arrived at their new home Meow and have settled in with my other kitties. Meow I will take very good care of them. Smile

It was so generous and thoughtful of you to send these lovely blocks even though you were not in the swap. Your fabrics are so cute. These blocks will make such a nice addition to my quilts.

Thank You!!
