Well I am now one month into the new house! It sure is quiet in the country! I have now stopped measuring my trips in the car in Min. and now am using miles!!!!
I am writing because we are now almost into Aug. and I thought I would try and see if there was any intrest in doing another ornament swap! I thought before I got permission I would put this out there and see how many are interested. This is not an official swap yet as I am just trying to see how many would like to participate. If there is enough intrest I will take the steps for swaps listed on this site. I think it went well last year and I would love to do it the same way again this year in groups of six. If anyone has any new ideas please let me know! I will give this post two weeks and see how many respond and then move from there! I am excited to do this again and would love to be the host! If any one out there would like to host with me plese let me know. I know Oknana was with me on this last year and she was great! Hint Hint!!!!!!
Well please respond if you would like to do this! I have three ornaments in mind alread!
It is good to talk to you all on here! I missed you and hope not to many of you are mad that I was absent for a while!
I am so pleased that you are back. I have missed you sooooooo much.
I would love to do another ornament swap.
Awhile back someone, I have to apologize that I do not remember who, mentioned an ornament swap making 3" blocks and signing them. That sounded like a really fun thing to do, and would make a really cute ornament. It would also give us practice working with mini-squares, but I am up to whatever.
Mona, I would be most happy to Co-host with ya girlfriend! There was talk somewhere of someone else doing a smaller ornament swap but to me this is what makes BC a fun place to be, we can have variety and have two swaps going at the same time with the same theme. Just different sizes maybe so it wouldn't get confusing. I get confused EASILY! LOL! Kim, has been out for a while, so let me pass this by the moderators Mona and try to contact Kim, and then I will get back to you! Can you pm me your email address? If I don't respond right away, give me a little time. I am finishing up inventory week at work and trying to pack for VC too, so hang with me girly.
ok i am game if someone tells me the ins and outs....do you "make and ornament" with the fabric...or buy ornament fabric....is it the same as the triangles make so many depending on how many sign up...questions like that....(if you have to make ornaments, please make it very easy lol i still have not learned how to sew anything harder than a HST lol)

Thanks for getting the ball rolling and letting me know you are intrested. Remember this is not an official swap yet. I am just sending out a general swap idea to see how many would be interested.
It looks like so far a few are but we need a big group like last year to make this work!
The rule will be simple. You make six identical ornaments and keep one for your self and mail the other six to the host. I would do as I did last year and devide them up and mail you five different ornaments from the members of your group.
Oknana, Thanks for offering to co host and at this point I will email kim and wait to hear from her to see what she thinks.
Feel free everyone to check out some of the pictures of ornaments from last year that are located in the album section of this site. There were alot of talented ladies last year!
I hope some more will show intrest in this and make it worth doing!
Ok Ladies I just emailed kim as it is summer time and alot of people are going on vacation so I thought I would ask for permission early and that way we can possibley start and get all the ornaments by thanksgiving. We will see what she says and Oknana has agreed to be a cohost with me so a big thank you to her for stepping in! Lets see what kim says and keep showing intrest so that we each might have a lot of ornaments to hang on our tree from around the world! I know I love each and everyone I got last year!
ornaments meaning block...(of our choice) or is there a pattern for ornament blocks? I am new to quilting and don't know the ins and outs on types of blocks

Mystical and to all who are thinking of joining this swap!
Here is what I have proposed to Kim. We will make six identical ornaments of our choice and the only rule for the ornament is that it must have fabric in it some how some where. Some made gingerbread ornaments last year some used beads some used yo - yo's made out of fabric. You can find photos of all of the ornaments from last years swap in the album section of this site. Take a look at all the talent!
Vicky, that would have been me! I just started a new thread about this. Kim gave permission, and Betty knows about it.
Two different swaps would be fun, though! Good to have you back, Mona -- you have been missed! And you did a great job last year with the ornie swap. How's the family?
I can search out the ornament patterns from last year and post those here. April, these are quite easy to do - just pick one and make 6. I'll be back. But please, take a look at my thread, too, ladies, and let me know. It wouldn't be hard to do two different swaps. The blocks I propose could be put into a small wallhanging or made into ornies.
