Hello ladies. I have just found this site and have been reading quite a few of the topics trying to get a "feel" of this group (I hope I'm making sense here). You all sound like you're great friends and having a lot of fun with exchanges and such.

I do have a question though. I keep seeing "PM me". What does that mean?

I'm really thinking about joining this Oriental Happy Block Swap if that would be ok.

Welcome!

The local pros in here will give you alllllllll the info about joining the Happy Blocks fun, but I can answer your question about the PM .

If you look up this page (to the top area) you’ll see a row of blue tabs that read:

GO-NEW-FIND-NOTIFY-TOOLS-REPLY... and the PM will be flashing to the right of the REPLY tab. If you click that little PM (flashing envelope) it will take you to a new screen with a msg that has been sent to you from someone in here. After you read it you can reply or hit the back button and you’ll go back out to the thread.

It’s a good way to pass information that is best not displayed out on the main board like your email address or snail mail address. A little bit of caution is always wise on the internet.

I’m sure you’ll get lots of hints and tips about the blocks. Here’s a link to the first page (with all the Happy Block instructions), but ask questions too. I sure did...lol
May Happy Block Instruction Page Each month has a different theme which is what makes it so fun.

I joined BC in mid-January. I have never been much of a "joiner" and had never belonged to any internet group. I am so happy that I got over my shyness and decided to join this forum. I really feel as if I have made many friends.

"PM's" are private messages.

Since the swap host has to have your name and address to send to the other swappers if you win and also your telephone number (not to given out but only should you need to be reached for swap purposes and your computer went down for a time and we could not contact you any other way to tell you who to send the blocks to) and you would never want to publish this personal information on a public forum, PM's are used to give the host this information.

To send a PM you click on a person's forum name and then their "Public Profile." This opens to a window where you can click on "Send a private message to ..."

I am sending you a PM for you to respond with your private info, should you decide to join the swap. You can find this on the blue Tool Bar at the top of the main BC page. It will flash saying "New PM" for you to open.

You would be most welcome to join the swap,

Hi, Susie,

That fabric does have a way of just calling to us as we pass by, doesn't it? I have (more than) a few pieces in my stash that just would not let me leave the quilt shop without coming with me.
