Hello,

As I posted in the April swap thread, I have been so lucky so far playing Happy Blocks, that, as hostess, I will be taking myself out of the drawing for this month and next.

I will still be making blocks ... just not putting my name in the pot ...

I love to make Happy Blocks!!

As a matter of fact I am washing my fabric for my oriental blocks as I type. I found some gorgeous Kona Bay prints with gold accents on the florals at a nearby quilt shop that has a huge selection of oriental/asian fabrics ... there was almost too much to choose from, I wanted to buy it all! They are not an online shop, but if you are ever in northestern Massachusetts, they are on one of the main routes to the beaches and well worth a quilt shop stop:

Here is a photo before the fabric went into the washer:

I am planning to fussy cut a "butterfly" for some of the block centers.

Since I have four fat quarters and I have been so happy to have a chance to host, I have decided to up my count to eight blocks ... four for each winner.

Good luck, everyone!

Yippee! Yippee! Wow!!!! We are up to 88 blocks!!!! Yippee! That is 44 blocks for each winner!!! Yippee! Yippee!

Keep those sign-ups coming in!! Let's all play Happy Blocks!! Smile Pat

Ok...since I do a majority of EVERYTHING at a late hour (when my eyeballs are tired) I indulged myself with an 8 1/2" template on sale last night. Happy Blocks...BEWARE!!..LOL

I love these size templates for squaring blocks and cutting centers. I bought a set a couple of years that had 2 & 1/2", 4 & 1/2", 6 & 1/2", 8 & 1/2" and 10 & 1/2" squares on a coupon sale and I have used it so much, it has turned out to be a great purchase. I bought a 12 & 1/2" one separately, later. I use them all the time.

Have fun, Smile Pat

Wow, we are going to have beautiful big quilts. I can't wait to see all the blocks. This is going to be such fun!

A question... Is there a special place where we post pictures or just in each topic? I'll have to check up on how to upload pictures with this computer.

I got my blocks for May made last night about 10:00 pm. Just didn't feel like going to bed yet so I sewed.

I have several square rulers ranging from 2 1/2 to 18 1/2 inches square. I made my own big ironing board, 24 x 60, and covered it with unbleached muslin. On it, I traced around the square rulers in two inch increments ranging from 4 1/2 to 12 1/2 inches square. Helps when pressing the blocks.

I am not sure how to do the adding of photos as I am pretty new here on BC myself. Oknana and Betty or one of the other Mods shall have to help us with this.

I have to get my photos uploaded, too,

Smile Pat
