Looks like we are pretty much in agreement on this issue...enough that I would call it resolved!

It was good to hear all of the opinions and I appreciate everyone who posted their thoughts on the issue.

Glad to see that we've got some football fans, I don't watch much of it because I've never really understood the game. In high school, I was the girl in the band who carried a book in her sax case and read during the entire game.

About walking: Wearing a pedometer is an awesome motivator for me! I love to check my stats during the day and you should see me at work trying to work in some extra steps everytime I have to go somewhere.

Dorene, my doctor told me exactly the same thing, but told me to work up more slowly due to my "out-of-shapeness". 8 years of fibro has made me an extremely sedentary person! I've not really walked outside any due to icky weather, but marching in place to some really upbeat music has proven to be a great substitute.

Betty, Walmart is a great place to walk! I went shopping there yesterday and got lots of steps on an otherwise sedentary Saturday.

Nola, I love the idea of 1 pound per week! It is so attainable! I'm hoping that my increased activity and the fact that I'm substituting water for sugary drinks and avoiding chocolate will help me do this. Geez, losing 52 lbs would put me back at my weight when I got married! Woohoo!

I am voting for the Eagles too. The NE Patriots won. Hooray!

I became a devout walker about 3 years ago, for several reason. The main one being my wonderful red girl, Emma Lou (she's a min pin) She ADORES to walk, and sheis a great motivator. This fall I challenged myself to start walking her twice a day, as opposed to once. now we walk at 5:30 am and at 4:30 pm. usually about 8-10 blocks sometimes longer. The other thing I did was try to give up sugar, as much as possible. I am now a devout Splenda fan..and in the last 6 mos, I have managed to shed about 17 pounds..not so bad...could be better

I'm so glad we're back to being happy again. I just want to say that I do appreciate all that Connie does and I feel her heart is in the right place. I don't feel left out anymore!!
