Hi Kerstin Smile BCAUS is a project that Connie thought up for us all to be able to give a little comfort to others less fortunate. The idea is we either make a quilt or quilt top, donate money to others to help them make quits etc. At Thanksgiving we shall draw names from our members who will chose up to 5 quilts from whatever stash we have, they will donate these quilts to a deserving family or a cause of their chosing. If there are quilts left in the 'pot' so to speak then another name will be drawn from our members and rthey will do the same until the pot is depleted.
It doesn't have to be 5 quilts, it can be 1 or 2 but a maximum of 5.
I hope that makes sense hun
This is rthe original thread

Hello,
I am still here. Never sure what the daily schedule is going to like. Just wanted to say that I have actually made progress on Amy's gift. Hope to have it finished by the end of next week Confused? Then I can start on the bag swap. Then the Christmas swap. And somewhere in there is the Batik Snowball when it gets here.

Just so sad, all the flooding in various parts of the country. And here in Indiana farm country we're praying for rain. If we don't get rain soon it will be a rough winter for the farmers as hay will be in short supply, and the corn crop is "iffy". Our soybeans never even came up! The hay is short, but at this point we'll mow it anyway - got to stash enough for the few animals we have. Supposed to be a chance of rain today and tomorrow. And in 2003 - just 4 years ago this week - we had a horrible flood comparable to what Texas, Okla. and Kansas are having now!!!

I'm working on Midge's gift - have it about 1/3 done and hope to have it finished by the end of the week. Then on to the Christmas swap!!

Just to say that I emailed Leanne's parcel out yesterday.

I've been quieter than normal as my computer blocked me out of the site and I had to rejoin. I'm back now though, hopefully

She wasn't set to go til next Monday, 9th... but guess Miss Rori Paige decided otherwise.. Smile She arrived (ceasarian) at 1:42 pm, 7lbs 2 oz, 19" long..She is a very petite little girl.. So now I have a 20 mo. old boy (Aidan Scott) and a baby girl.. This has been quite a day..whew!! I took care of Aidan from 9am til 8:15pm. He's such a good boy..Then my DS, home from Kuwait, and my Mom (only GR Gramma) went to see them..Oh, and everyone is fine.. Just wanted to let everyone kno.

OH GOODIE, OKNANA, I will be on the watch..boy YOU are early..haha...Your's is not far behind, now that baby is here I can finish up..

Jean, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Wow, it's so much fun being a gramma, huh? I have two granddaughters, ages 6 and 5 who call me Oma. Love it!

And what a pretty name! I guess Aidan is her brother? Cute name for him too. I just know that little girl will get lots of loving from you, and everyone! Have fun!!

I'm glad everything went well for your daughter. Glad your son is home too - for good?

Thanks for letting us know! Woohoo, a future quilter??!!?

Gerda
