Happy Blocks for November...

Ready for Signups! Let's have a great month with lots of swappers and lots of blocks!

since vicky chose fall themes, i thought i would get a jump on the christmas holiday season and choose christmas prints - large, small, angels, snowmen, santa, whatever as long as it's CHRISTMAS-Y!! you can even use christmas-y solids for borders or the center block if you wish - lots of ideas here so let's be creative!

Participants:
Cindy-------8
Vicky-------10
Gerda-------8
Michelle----10
Mary (Quiltbuddie)----8
Mary T------6
LindaO------8
Wasie-------8
Barb--------8
Jami--------6
Jean--------8
Shelia------10
Jacqui------6

Anyone interested in this swap should let me know how many blocks you want to make (limit 10) before the drawing date of the month. Names will be drawn on the first Friday of November and the number of blocks you choose to make will determine how many times you get your name in the pot for a chance to win half of the month's blocks. Each participant is responsible for sending half of her blocks to each of the two winners.

The happy block is made from a 4 1/2" unfinished center square which is then surrounded by another single fabric as a border. The border pieces measure 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" unfinished for the sides and 8 1/2" x 2 1/2" unfinished for the top and bottom borders. The unfinished block will measure 8 1/2" square.

You may use the themed fabric on the inner square fabric, or the border fabric, or both. Please try to use only one fabric for the center sqaure and only one fabric for the border so that the winner will be able to make a quilt with some design uniformity. You may choose to make all of your blocks identical or all different.

If you have any questions, please post on the thread or PM me directly.

thanks everyone! now let the fun & swapping begin!!

Cindy, thanks! Please sign me up for 6 again. On second thought, make that 8 this time!

We hope to move in by November (or during that month) but the house won't be done, and most of my sewing stuff will be stored in the container as far as I know. We want to have the heating and plumbing and insulation done, and something in the kitchen before moving in, then finishing over the winter while living in it. sounds like fun, huh?? Big Grin I'm planning on keeping some projects out, but don't know if I'll be able to get to my fabrics. Hmmm, I may have to be judicious in WHERE I store those totes! Smile
I would like to continue with this.

Gerda
