Come on GreenDragonLady, and FlDeb, AF WIFE Kim, Mare, Debbie K, Meg. Don't wait until Spring bc it will be full by then! Look at me!!! Twisting arms again! WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just can't help it! ROFL! It is a sickness I have you know! LOL!
Ok, OKnana, consider my arm twisted, as long as I don't have to think about it until after the holidays, I'm in. I don't have to do anything pictorial, do I? If I do, then you don't want me in this swap, cuz I really, really stink at that kind of stuff.
Hi Linda, I'm new (old poster) here, but I love the idea. I'd like to try this when it comes up. I'm busybusy now too, but more with work and school than anything else. Please let me know! Thank you, Debi

Now we are 10! Woo Hooooooooo! No pictorials are necessary - unless you WANT to do that. There are LOTS of neat ideas that show our patriotism and/or appreciation of the police, fire, and EMS personnel. I know there will be lots of Red, White and Blue.
So far we have: Linda O Debo Nola Connie Oknana Jess (Keeb02) Betty Mare Meg (Ohio Rose) Debi
Only 2 more to go and we will have our 12! And you don't have to start these blocks until AFTER the holidays - unless you just WANT to do so.

I have been giving this exchange some thought. I would like to contribute for those who were at the Pentagon and the military who are now serving overseas because of 9/11. Trina

YIPPEE! With Trina we are at 11 - only 1 more to go!
keeb02 - Here's the swap in a nutshell. With 12 people we will each make 12 identical 12-1/2" blocks (12" finished). We will keep one of the blocks and send the other 11 to me, with a return envelop stamped with the same postage it takes to send the blocks to me. Each person in the group will then receive 11 different blocks (plus they will already have their own) to put together in a quilt.
These blocks will depict OUR visualization of what 9/11 means/meant to us; something we want to memorialize in our quilt. Maybe your block is a paper-pieced or appliqued fireman/policeman/paramedic or maybe it's the twin towers or a flag. 9/11 could also be the servicemen who are now overseas defending our country, since that was a result of the 9/11 attack. Lots of different things to think about.
How's that?

Sounds excellent to me Linda! I'll be digging around and seeing what I can find, patriotic-wise that I can play with. I'll probably start soon, just because I know how I am... if I don't get started now, it may not be finished on time! Debi

Okay, so I'm a nerd... I made a block already, just to try it out. It turned out pretty nice (well, matching some of the points didn't work so well, but hey, it was my first time making quarter triangle squares or whatever you call them!) and went together far easier and quicker than I expected. I don't know if I have enough of the fabrics to make 12 total (I'd at least have to get more WOW for the background) Swap Mom, a question. Do all the blocks have to be *identical*? I mean all the same pattern but maybe vary on the fabrics a little? I'm happy to do them all exactly the same, just wondering. Thanks! Debi
