OK, I've made a decision. After weeks of thinking about how I felt on 09/11/01, I just kept getting that sinking overwhelming sadness, I thought about how my friend Karen sat with me looking out over the ocean (we were on vacation in the OBX)and listened to my fears about my sons going to war as I knew they would.
I decided I wanted to focus on the outpouring of love and caring that this tragedy sparked. And the healing that continues.
I'm going to make mended hearts.
I drew heart and am going to patch it like a crazy quilt.
I'll go out tomorrow and collect more patriotic fabrics and try to find some with the military insignias on them.
Please excuse me but,I also have to put some reference to the pink ribbon for breast cancer because my friend Karen's Mother passed away 09/14/01 after a long battle with breast cancer.
I can't wait to get all these blocks.
Kat

Another reminder for this wonderful group: Don't forget stick a label with your name (and city, state, email addy) on the back of each block so we can all give you proper credit on our quilt labels.

Hiya Linda and All!
Sorry I haven't been very talkative, algrbra hs been kicking my butt! But I've finished some blocks, I need to make sure how many we need total so I can get that done and I would love if Linda would refresh my memory on her address. I *may* have stashed it someplace, but apparently I've stashed it so well that I've hidden it from myself!
Take care,
Debi

I'll PM you with my address again, Debi.

And you need to make 15 blocks, so each swapper in this group gets one of your blocks.

Also, I FINISHED MY BLOCKS! WOO HOO! ALL 15 ARE DONE! I can't wait to get ALL of the blocks and get them put together!

Okay, here's what I'm finishing up for the 9/11 swap. The pattern is called Sunrise Star and I thought that was appropriate. After 9/11, the world changed. But there is always hope for a new, better day.

Just a note, I ran out of the subtle stripe in the white...LOL. So my blocks won't look *exactly* like the picture. Please forgive the non-matching corners also. I'm out of practice and my corner matching never was brilliant anyway ;-)
