What an interesting life you have led Mona. It sounds like you have plenty to be proud of. I for one can say Thank You to you and your husband and all our other military families for the sacrifices you make or have made to keep us safe and secure. There is a special place in heaven for families like yours Mona. What a blessing to know you and have you as part of our group on BC.

BC has been a wonderful addition to my life. The ladies are all so supportive and kind. I learn something new all the time and not just about quilting.

I hope there is room in the swap for you too Mona. I think this is going to be a fabulous quilt. I've already got several ideas on the block I want to do and can't wait to get some of these other things off my plate so I can really start planning.

I love your fabric & pattern choices! The background fabric is just going to be awesome! Keepsake Quilting is a wonderful place to shop! Some of that may have to come live here with me...

Happy Quilting!

I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you.

YOU ARE IN MONA! Now we are 12. This is going to be FUN, FUN, FUN! I think we all have our thinking caps on, now. And it seems the predominant colors will be R/W/B, with maybe some accent fabrics here and there - anything goes so to speak.

So - everyone will make 12 of their blocks - 12-1/2" (12" finished), and send them to me! Blocks will be due to me May 1, 2007 - after the holidays. Is that okay with everyone? It sounds like we may be done with this fairly early next year - we've all got ideas rolling around.

We are 12!

Thanks, all. This is going to be great. AND, if you know of someone who is missing from our group let them know about this swap. 12 was the MINimum number needed so we'd each get 12 blocks. However, there can be more than 12 - the more the merrier.

So, if there is anyone else out there interested in a 9/11 Swap, let me know!

I can't wait to see all the blocks and quilts. This is going to be SO neat - and remember what I said earlier. Maybe some of our local newspapers would publish something about our group and our quilts. NOTORIETY! Big Grin

We really seem to have a lot of connections to the military, fire, police, or EMS. I am a graduate of the Richardson Citizens Fire and Police Academies. Both courses are to give citizens a working knowledge of those areas of the city government. I enjoyed attending both of them. Each was a 10-12 week, 1 day a week course on the inner workings of those areas. Very informative. I've ridden on fire trucks and in police cars as part of the course and as an alumni. After 9/11 I stood on a busy street corner with the Fire Department personnel collecting money for the fire personnel affected by 9/11. I was proud to help in that way.
